ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
The fence gates open at 8:45 in the morning and close at 8:55AM. The morning carline operates during this same time for the courtyard classrooms. Please arrive with your child during this ten minute arrival window. It is important to arrive on time so that your child’s day flows smoothly and other children’s routines are not disrupted in the classroom. If you do happen to be late (the gates are closed) please take your child to the office and ask for a tardy slip. Please get the tardy slip before coming to the classroom. If your child will be buying lunch in the cafeteria that day, you should let the secretary know at that time. Our goal is to help your child foster independence and autonomy; please allow your child to put her or his things away in the hall on her or his own. Also, please allow your child to enter the classroom alone, tardy slip in hand.
Similarly, dismissal is from 12:00 noon to 12:10 PM and from 3:50 in the afternoon until 4:00PM. Should you arrive outside of those times, your child will be sent to wait for you in the office.
Please know that “we are legally responsible” for your child if you have signed her in and out. The sign-in sheets are important documents that can be reviewed by Social Services and must be completed on a daily basis. Sign-in sheets are located in notebooks or clip boards hanging on the fence near your child’s classroom.
Your child will NOT be released to anyone other than a parent or legal guardian without written permission from you. This information is on file in the office in your child’s cumulative folder. Please notify the office of any changes immediately. If you know that someone other than yourself will be occasionally picking up your child, please add that person to your child’s list in the office.
If your child rides the bus, it is school policy to ALWAYS place the child on the bus unless WRITTEN NOTIFICATION to the contrary has been received.

COMMUNICATION
Please notify the school secretary immediately should any of your contact information change during the year.
Please check your child’s Wednesday folder compartment (located at the fence) on a daily basis and especially on Wednesdays, for news and information. The website www.SandovalMatters.org is also a good source for information, notices and events at our school. Please remember to return the blue AAMS folders every week so that the following week’s information may be distributed to you.
You are more than welcome to email or call and leave a message for me at any time. The following numbers are direct lines into the classrooms and are not answered during instructional time. If you need to convey urgent information, please call the office 720-424-4370 and ask the secretary to relay your message in person.

If you would like to speak with me, please send a note, call and leave a message, make an appointment or check to see if we can chat after dismissal. Please do not try and have a lengthy conversation with me at drop-off or while I am working in the car line. Our priority is to make sure your child gets into the classroom safely and distractions can be unsafe.
Lastly, please read the information that is sent home, or is posted in the classroom corner on the Sandoval Matters website regularly!
